Cody Johnson was voted “Male Vocalist of the Year” at the 2011 Texas Regional Radio Awards. A few of his hit singles include “Nobody to Blame”, “Pray for Rain”, and “Texas Kind of Way.”
Brandon Rhyder has a pop-rock voice, writes Country/Americana songs, and his band is loaded with southern rock and country influence. A few of his hits include “Have I Waited Too Long”, “Battery”, “Freeze Frame Time”, and his reworking of the Don Williams hit “Lord I Hope This Day Is Good”.
Honeybrowne has made its mark on the Texas music scene. Fred Andrews is “a master of witty wordplay and pithy turns of phrase with a winning ability to write real emotion out of a lyric.” Singer, songwriter and group leader Fred Andrews and his musical companions come by their sound and success honestly, drawing from a rich palette of inspirations. A few of their hits include “Texas Angel”, “Beautiful Waste of Time”, and “Let the Music Play”.
Rick Trevino signed with Columbia Records in 1991 and soon after produced a gold album and several number one/Top Ten singles including “She Can’t Say I Didn’t Cry” and “Learning as You Go.”
The fair includes entertainment for all ages; an open stage with performances throughout the day, rodeos, concerts, and strolling clown acts. The carnival will occupy more than 5 acres and offer about 40 rides. Grounds attractions will include a petting zoo, pony rides, pig races and mechanical bull. Winning entries from the Youth Western Art Show will be on display and young people will be encouraged to compete in the Food Challenge Contest that will be held on Saturday morning (Entry forms can be found online at www.BrazosValleyFair.com). As part of our commitment to education, the Fair will also have Southwest Dairy’s Milking Demonstration, Soup Bone Cattle Company’s Authentic Chuck Wagon, and the display “Corn is Everywhere”.
